Leidos wins $445M contract to support Air Force’s headquarters IT
Leidos will continue to provide the Air Force’s IT and telecommunications services in the National Capital Region under a $445 million contract awarded Wednesday.
The work “provides a full range of classified and unclassified information technology services in the National Capital Region … to include Joint Base Andrews, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and the Pentagon,” a Pentagon announcement says. The contract will run through September 2024.
The services required under the contract run the full spectrum of the Air Force’s headquarters needs: IT program management, cybersecurity, enterprise IT operations, systems planning and engineering, and much more.
Additionally, Leidos will “provide dedicated IT support and services to the [National Military Command Center], Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), and other tenant agencies/organizations,” according to the solicitation, issued last December.
Leidos is the incumbent for the award. The company received a sole-source follow-on contract last summer.
The Pentagon said it received two other offers for the contract.
Meanwhile, the service is implementing its Digital Air Force effort. At the heart of that is its enterprise IT-as-a-service (EITaaS) initiative, “where the USAF leverages industry to transform IT service delivery to enhance Airmen’s user experience,” according to the service.
