The White House plans to launch a new committee of government technology leaders that will act as a de facto chief technology officers council, reports NextGov’s Joseph Marks.
Department of Veterans Affairs Chief Technology Officer Peter Levin made the announcement at a Tuesday morning AFCEA event in Bethesda, Md.
The council will augment President Obama’s Innovation Cohort, which is made up of politically-appointed chief technology and innovation officers, by bringing in career employees as well.
Levin said an early planning meeting took place Monday with the idea being the council will be an informal place to share insights and solve problems across government.
