HP wins $1.4B first piece of Navy hardware NGEN-R contract

The first of two big contracts has been awarded under the Navy's NGEN-R program. HP subsidiary HPI Federal could take home up to $1.4 billion over the potential 10-year agreement, providing hardware-as-a-service for use on the Navy Marine Corps Intranet, the OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) abroad and the Marine Corps Enterprise Network. This includes “laptops, desktops, tablets, virtual desktops, zero/thin client devices and associated peripherals such as keyboards, mice, monitors and docking stations,” according to an announcement. Most EIS vendors are accepting task orders now

Two more vendors under GSA's $50 billion EIS telecommunications modernization contract have earned an authority to operate. BT Federal and Harris Corp. completed business support system testing and received three-year ATOs from the General Services Administration on Sept. 26 — allowing them to accept EIS task orders. ATOs for the remaining EIS vendors should be coming soon. Dave Nyczepir has the scoop.
