GSA Creates Site on Federal Advisory Committee Info


The General Services Administration announced a new website yesterday that makes 10 years of federal advisory committee information accessible to the public as part of the Obama Administration’s open government initiative.

The site,, provides information on advisory committee costs, meetings, membership, contact information and links to any sites the advisory committees may have stood up.

Federal advisory committees are committees, boards, commissions, or similar groups established by statute, the president, or agency officials to formulate advice or recommendations on issues or policies within the scope of an agency’s responsibilities.


In addition to the new site, GSA provides information on federal advisory committees through The Shared Management System,, Library of Congress along with at the individual departments or agencies.
