General Dynamics IT gets new leader in Christopher Marzilli
Christopher Marzilli will take the reins of General Dynamics IT starting in 2019.
The company announced that Marzilli will take over its IT portfolio Jan. 1, following the retirement of current leader S. Daniel Johnson at the close of 2018. Marzilli is currently president of General Dynamics Mission Systems, and Christopher J. Brady, vice president of engineering for that unit, will take over in his absence.
“Chris Marzilli has played a pivotal role in building the Mission Systems business and in this new role, he will ensure both businesses continue to expand and meet the needs of our customers, employees and shareholders,” Phebe Novakovic, chairman and CEO, said in a statement.
Marzilli has been with General Dynamics since its 1999 acquisition of his former employer, GTE Government Systems, where he began in 1981.
His promotion comes on the heels of General Dynamics IT’s $9.7 billion acquisition of CSRA in April. The deal made General Dynamics IT the largest provider of technology services to the federal government by a hefty margin.
According to Govini, the two Falls Church, Virginia-based companies combined for $22.7 billion in revenue from the federal IT market between fiscal 2014 and 2017. Leidos, the highest grossing federal IT vendor until this point, earned $17.2 billion in federal IT services during that period.
