The Federal Bureau of Investigation has launched a new website, FBI-SOS, that uses online games to educate students and teachers about cyber etiquette and safety.

FBI-SOS, short for Safe Online Surfing, features third to eighth grade-specific “islands” that quiz and educate students on cybersecurity using interactive tools such as games and videos. Each island has multiple areas to explore with a specific cyber safety lesson and its own central character and visual theme.

A leaderboard highlights top-scoring schools and winners receive an FBI-SOS trophy and a potential school visit by an FBI agent.

“FBI-SOS is a fun, free, and effective way to teach kids how to use the Internet safely and responsibly,” said FBI’s Scott McMillion. “We encourage teachers to check out the site and sign up their classes during the school year.”!
