Golden Gov: Executive of the Year
As the U.S. federal CIO in the Executive Office of the President, Clare Martorana has overseen the rollout of some of the most important federal IT mandates in recent history during the Biden administration — namely the 2021 cybersecurity executive order, which mandated a more fervent push to zero trust, and the more recent customer experience executive order, which places a higher premium on using IT to improve government services. During her tenure as federal CIO, Martorana has also been a staunch advocate for the federal Technology Modernization Fund as a mechanism to support the administration’s top modernization priorities of cybersecurity, digital services and customer experience.
